BJP to play Oppn role as TDP lost self-confidence: Kanna Lakshminarayana
Giddalur: The Telugu Desam Party is living in fear now and its leaders are worrying to face the public, said BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana.
He said that as the opposition party lost its self-confidence, the BJP is donning the role of opposition and working on the side of public.
Lakshminarayana, on his way to Vijayawada from Kurnool took a brief halt at Pidatala Saraswati's house and spoke to media on Wednesday.
He said the BJP has clarified that awarding special category status to the state was not possible at any cost and sanctioned more funds as special package instead of the SCS during Chandrababu Naidu's rule. He explained that the public chose Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister as the TDP government spent the funds from the Central government irrationally and cheated on them.
He said the BJP as the Opposition, will give a tough fight to YSRCP in 2024 by being on the side of public in the meantime. He said the Central government would be happy to order probe into corruption during the tenure of TDP government if Jagan could write a letter recommending the same.
The local leaders explained Lakshminarayana that the constituency was facing severe scarcity of drinking water and requested him to see the government sanction funds to fight it and construct an overbridge at Racherla Gate. Former Nandhyala MP Gangula Pratapa Reddy, district in-charge Sasibhushan Reddy, Gangula Bharath Reddy, Kadapa Nagender and Pidatala Ramesh Reddy participated in the programme.
