Vijayawada: Former Union minister and Rajya Sabha member Y Sujana Chowdary warned the state government that the BJP would not allow the revenge politics and attacks being pursued by the YSRCP government.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Chowdary said that the state government was focusing only on politics of vendetta against its rivals leaving the governance to winds.. Responding to a question, he said that the BJP workers were also facing assaults in the state.

He suggested that the state government complete the Polavaram irrigation project and Amaravati capital projects without further delay. He said that the Centre and Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) have already suggested to the state government not to stop the works in the name of irregularities.

He pointed out that the state government was replacing the contractor of Polavaram project without showing proper reasons. He stated that the PPA also clarified that the expenditure for works would escalate if the contractor is changed. "The state government should take action if there are any irregularities are found. But it is not at all advisable to cancel the contract. The state government is going for reverse tendering despite objections and advice by the Centre and PPA. It is claiming that Rs 500 crore will be saved by reverse tendering, but it can't save even Rs 5," said the BJP leader.

Chowdary said while the previous government had delayed the construction of Polavaram project, the current government was also repeating the mistakes by halting the works. Amaravati farmers issue to Governor's notice…..

The BJP MP said that he met Governor Biswabushan Harichandan along with the farmers of Amaravati capital at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday. "The farmers explained their concerns following the comments of municipal administration minister Botcha Satyanarayana over the future of Amaravati as capital to the Governor. They gave their lands for the construction of capital to a government which was elected by people," he said. .

Stating that statements of Botcha Satyanarayana had created confusion among the farmers, Sujana Chowdary said asked Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to give clarity on the capital construction.
