BJYM demands solution to drought in State

Vijayawada: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State president Nagothu Ramesh Naidu on Friday alleged that TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu has no concern about the State and its people. In an open letter to the Chief Minister, he demanded him to take permanent measures to address drought in the State.

He said that people of Andhra Pradesh are suffering a lot due to shortage of water in the villages and forced to walk at least two kilometres to get drinking water. He said the farmers were not able to feed their cattle due to lack of water and fodder. He said that in a short span of five years, 1,200 farmers committed suicide which is alarming.

He pointed out that the crops were withering away due to shortage of water. He rued that drought condition in the state has been alarming year after year and demanded that the government take responsibility to ameliorate the drought condition in the state.

He demanded that the government provide drinking water for people and fodder for cattle. He said that steps should be taken to prevent selling of cattle to slaughterhouses. He demanded provision of jobs for farmers who migrated to other states. He said that Rayalaseema ranked second place in drought after Rajasthan. He questioned Chandrababu as to why he is campaigning for the parties other than the BJP in other states spending the State government funds.
