Book on status of Rayalaseema State demand released in Tirupati

Tirupati: Former Assembly Speaker Dr Agarala Eswar Reddy found fault with the previous governments for not forming separate State of Rayalaseema at the time of bifurcation of Telangana.

Releasing the Telugu version of a book "O Rayalaseema! When will State status dream be realised" written by Prof A Ranga Reddy at Department of Economics, Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) on Monday, he analysed systematically how Rayalaseema was neglected before and after independence.

Reddy emphasised former MP Acharya NG Ranga's dream of making Tirupati as capital of Andhra Pradesh. SVU College of Arts Principal Prof K Padmini has stressed that strong youth movement only can achieve Rayalaseema State.

BJP district president B Chandra Reddy has made it clear that BJP is ready for the formation of smaller States. Editor of Penneru, a Telugu fortnight journal Vanam Datta Prasad Sharma praised the book that it raised inspiration and dream of everyone in this region. He said that irrigation water was a serious and challenging subject affecting Rayalaseema.

Prof BV Chalapathi and author of the book Prof A Ranga Reddy have also spoke on the occasion while a PhD scholar Pavan Kumar has recited a poem on the pathetic life of farmers in Rayalaseema.

Prof T Lakshmamma, Prof M Devarajulu, Prof MA Hussain Prof K Santha Kumari, Prof MC Reddeppa Reddy, Prof D Krishna Murthy, Prof R Suneetha and others were present.
