Botcha Satyanarayana launches pension week
Vizianagaram: Minister for education Botcha Satyanarayana launched pension week in Kotarubilli village of Gantyada Mandal on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the eligibility is the only criteria to avail welfare schemes. The government is reviewing eligibility of the beneficiaries and some people are misguiding the public by saying that the government is removing the names from the list.
He said that the YSRCP government is delivering welfare schemes to every eligible individual without the recommendations and intervene of any middle man, leaders. The government has increased pension amount three times in the past three years and now it reached to Rs 2,750 from Rs 2,000. He further said that around 4,000 pensioners have received notices and 736 could not furnish proper documents and 1,236 applications are under verification.
Collector A Surya Kumari said that the government officials would restore the pensions soon after submitting all the supporting documents. ZP Chairman M Srinivasa Rao, MLA B Appala Narasaiah and others were present.
