Boy drowns to death after a car lunges into Sagar canal in Ongole
Santhanuthalapadu: A boy was drowned to death as the car he is travelling in lost control of his father and jumped off the road into the Nagarjuna Sagar Canal, on Tuesday.
According to the Ongole rural CI Pandaraboyina Subbarao, a native of Puttacheruvu Palem village in Chimakurthy Mandal, Inkollu Srinivasa Rao is travelling with his son Akiranand, aged 5 years and nieces Chandu and Chakri aged 16 years and 11 years respectively to Ammanabrolu in a TATA Indica car with registration number AP07Q 0515.
Between Chandrapalem and Mangamuru, Srinivasa Rao tried to avoid collision with a motorbike but lost control of the car, which jumped off into the Sagar canal, flowing in parallel with the road.
The CI Subbarao said that Akiranand was drowned to death on the spot and they shifted the three people, Srinivasa Rao, Chandu, and Chakri to the Government General Hospital in Ongole where they are put in observation. He said that they registered a case on the driver and started the investigation.
