British Deputy High Commissioner visits Vizianagaram
Vizianagaram: British Deputy High Commissioner of Hyderabad Dr Andrew Fleming called on District Collector Dr M Harijawaharlal at Collectorate in Vizianagaram on Monday. He was accompanied by Nalini Ramalingam, representative of Pushpagiri Eye Hospitals.
Andrew Fleming was here on a mission to visit Pushpagiri Eye Hospitals to enquire about the results of a project funded by Queen Elizibeth Diamond Jubilee Trust of London. The Trust has funded for a project called "Reducing Blindness from Diabetic Retinopathy in India.
" Vizianagaram is the only district selected to implement the project in the state. As part of the project, four Government Hospitals in the district provided with facilities like staff and equipment to treat diabetic patients suffering with eye related health issues. This project was implemented from March 2016 to June 2019 for three years period.
