Cadets asked to discharge duties honestly

Korukonda (Vizianagaram): The Investiture Ceremony of Sainik School, Korukonda was held at the school on Wednesday in a befitting and traditional manner. Commodore K S Noor, Command Education Officer, Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam, was the chief guest for the function.

The Investiture ceremony was held every year to confer rank badges on the selected school appointments, who are hand-picked with an aim to develop certain leadership qualities in them and to groom them as successful leaders of the country.

KS Noor laid a wreath at the War Memorial in the Central Park within the school premises and paid homage to gallant heroes who laid down their lives for the sake of motherland and to express the nation's solidarity with soldiers doing the duty in the borders in rough terrain and under heavy odds. Addressing the gathering the chief guest congratulated the cadets for the honour bestowed upon them.

He exhorted them to discharge their duties with honesty, integrity and sincerity. He emphasised that firmness and fairness were the two most important guiding principles of any appointment. He congratulated the officers, staff and cadets for the excellent performance in every sphere of training.

Earlier, welcoming the chief guest Colonel A M Kulkarni, the Principal, said that the presence of the distinguished officer was an inspiration and motivation to the cadets to forge ahead in the path of success. Capt N Senthil Kumar, Head of the Department of Mathematics, conducted the proceedings and Wing Commander C S Bhanuprakash, Vice Principal administered oath to the appointments. Wing Commander CS Bhanu Prakash , vice principal of the school also participated in the programme.
