Call to end menace of fake homeo doctors in Anantapur

Anantapur: State Homeo Doctors Association general secretary Dr P Kumaraiah has cautioned the public against fake homeo doctors, who are taking gullible patients for a ride and medically mistreating the patients.

Talking to The Hans India on the sidelines of an awareness programme on the efficacy of the homeo medical science while drawing a parallel with allopathy, here on Saturday, Kumaraiah stated that Homeo medical science takes a wholistic view of the patient unlike the allopathy medicine practitioners, who offer instant emergency solutions to ward off any form of sickness.

English medicine prioritises only on suppression of symptoms of any ailment making the patient vulnerable to a return to the supressed sickness or ailment whatsoever. The homeo science deals with the root cause of the ailment while taking a comprehensive look at the disease or sickness.

Homeo science applies its mind on eradication of the disease in the body and does not prioritise on giving instant succour to the patient. A supressed sickness will one day bounce back on the patient.

Homeo science medical practitioner is often confused with Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs), who are authorised by government only to extend first aid and refer the patient to the authorised medical practitioner, whereas the homeo doctors also study homeo medicine for five-and-a-half years on the lines of MBBS.

Kumaraiah has urged the government to take steps to end the fake homeo doctors menace particularly in the rural areas. Many homeo practitioners, who were trained for 6 months in medicines administration are masquerading as doctors by establishing hospitals with a corporate look and misleading gullible patients.

Kumaraiah alleged that these so-called doctors were administering overdose of medicines to patients and putting their lives to risk and danger. He called upon homeo doctors and the general public to bring to his notice on fake doctors so that he could take up the issue with the government and help end the menace.
