Call to fight malaria with coordinated efforts

Eluru: Collector Praveen Kumar called upon officials to fight malaria with coordinated efforts by taking support of people. He flagged off an awareness rally to mark World Malaria Day here on Thursday.

Stating that last year 174 cases of malaria were registered in the district, the Collector directed the officials to create awareness among people on malaria, dengue and other diseases.

By taking preventive measures, the presence of malaria and dengue cases can be restricted, he advised. The Collector said that the actual number of malaria and dengue cases can be much more than registered.

By keeping this in mind, the officials should analyse each case and should root out the very cause. As many as 139 habitations in five agency mandals have been identified as prone to malaria. The officials should implement pinpoint action plan in these hamlets, he directed.
