Candidates free to verify security at strong rooms

Bhimavaram: The candidates who contested in recently held elections can personally verify the security arrangements at strongrooms of EVMs by visiting CC cameral control rooms. However, they have to secure prior permission for the same, announced Collector and District Election Officer Praveen Kumar.

The Collector accompanied by Superintendent of Police Raviprakash visited the strongrooms here on Wednesday and reviewed the security. He said special staff has been appointed for working in CC camera control rooms set up at strongrooms. They were given identity cards also.

He asked the security personnel not to allow cell phones on the premises of strongrooms, including the staff working in control room. Each and every movement at the strongrooms should be recorded in cameras, he ordered. He also directed the security staff not to allow any vehicles on the premises.
