Celestial wedding of Sri Venkateswara Swamy performed in Dokiparru

Dokiparru (Krishna): Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Kalyanam was an eye feast to devotees who visited and witnessed the grand event at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Dokiparru in Krishna district on Sunday.

The holy event was performed under the aegis of temple founder trustee P Venkata Krishna Reddy and his wife Sudha. P Veera Reddy, Vijayalakshmi, K Bapi Reddy, Vijaya Bhaskaramma and P Nagi Reddy along with their family members witnessed the mega event along with huge gathering of villagers and devotees.

The temple Vedic pundits said that performing kalyanam was the custom which is being followed for the last four years. Chakrasnanam and Tomala Seva were performed while the temple priests chanted Veda mantras. Later, Tirumanjam abhishekam was performed with milk, honey, curd and perfumes along with Churnam Gandhostavam.

The temple founder trustee and the organisers along with their family members and the devotees took part in the Chakrasnanam event. The Vedic priest of the temple explained the importance of the chakrasnanam. Annamayya keertanas were recited by the troop of Govindaiah on the temple premises. The temple organisers thanked the police for their bandobast and making the four-day event conclude peacefully.
