Centre appoints TDP MP Kesineni Nani as member of ICMR committee
The central government has given TDP MP Kesineni Nani a key post. He was nominated as a member of the Indian Council of Medical Research Committee. The Committee oversees the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, chemicals, regulations and rights in the country.
The Committee will also review the activities carried out by the Union Ministry of Health. Kesineni Nani won the second time as Vijayawada MP. He started his political career from the Praja Rajyam Party joined the TDP before the 2014 elections and won the Vijayawada Lok Sabha parliament segment.
Off late Nani defeated YSRCP candidate Pottluori Varaprasad by a small margin in 2019. However, after the election, it was rumoured that he would leave the TDP and join the BJP, but Nani dismissed the campaign. Political analysts are sceptical of whether he has ever approached the BJP with his latest prestigious post.
