Centre will give funds for Polavaram and Amaravati: Dinakar
Amaravati: Reacting on no allocations made for AP in the Union Budget, the BJP leader from Andhra Pradesh Lanka Dinakar said that the central government will give funds for construction of Polavaram and Amaravati capital city.
In an interview with this correspondent over the budget, he explained that there was no need to show allocations for project wise in the budget, the amount could be given directly to the concerned department. He said that, "Union Govt had disbursed around Rs 6700 Crores for last 5 years for Polavaram. Now, Rs 3000 Crores were announced to release. We got these funds without mentioning it in the budget. Like that AP will get funds for Polavaram. Some persons are raising a question that allocations were made for North Eastern States. This was so because there is separate ministerial department is in existence for those States."
Similarly, Union Govt disbursed Rs 1500 Crores for the Capital Construction and 1000 Crore for underground drainage system so far for AP. DPRs for ORR with in the Capital and 4 way road from the Capital to Rayalseema had already approved, funds for these projects will be released. The other eligible projects with in the Capital Region will be cleared by the Union Govt, but it appears to be happening certain changes in the priorities of Capital Construction by the new Government of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, he observed.
