Chandi puja, other special rituals conducted at Srisailam temple

Kurnool: Dasara utsavams are being celebrated on a grand note at Sri Bhramarambha Devi Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam. On the fifth day of 11-day celebrations, Chandi Puja and Mandapa Aaradhana were performed.

Mahanyasa Poorvaka Ekadasi Rudrabhisekham, Rudra Homam, Rudra Yagaganga Japams and Rudra Parayanams were also performed to the deities on Saturday.

About 8 in the morning Sri Chakrachana, Navararchanalu, special Kunkumarchana, Nava Graha Mandaparadhana, Nava Graha, Panchakashri, Bhramari, Balajapanustanamu, Chaturveda parayanam, Surya Namaskaram, Kumari Puja and Chandi Homam were conducted.

In the evening Kalarathri Puja, Mantapuspam, Ammavari Astana Seva, Suvasine Puja and distribution of Teeratha Prasadams have been done. On the fifth day of Dasara Utsavams Navarathri Mahotsavams are being performed. As part of Navadurga alankara the presiding deities Sri Swami Ammavarlu was decorated in the form of Kalarathri. .

As part of these festivities, the temple authorities have presented the Chenchus with Swamy Ammavarla Sesha Vastrams. Several programmes were organised to Chenchus keeping their strong attachment with the presiding deities. "Maa Swamy Mallanna" was organised at the Chenchu Gudem to spread the essence of spirituality among the Chenchus.

The temple Executive Officer (EO), KS Rama Rao has said for several decades the Chenchus believe that Bhramarambha Devi is their daughter and Mallikarjuna Swamy is their son-in-law.
