Chandrababu alleges AP govt. of neglecting Polavaram displaced families

Telugu Desam Party National President and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has accused Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy of not taking action to compensate the Polavaram displaced families. He alleged that irregularities have been committed by making changes in the list of beneficiaries and accused that no one has received compensation in four years.

Chandrababu gave a PowerPoint presentation on the irrigation projects in East Godavari district. He questioned Jaganmohan Reddy about the promised compensation of Rs 19 lakhs per acre, which was supposed to be equivalent to the compensation provided for the Pattiseema project.

Recalling that the previous Telugu Desam government had provided rehabilitation to the residents of Polavaram using both central and state government funds, Naidu claimed that the construction of houses had started at a fast pace. He criticized Jaganmohan Reddy for not initiating any new construction within the Polavaram Left Main Canal and said that there are still 214 buildings to be constructed, and 50 percent of connectivity works are pending.

Chandrababu also mentioned the Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation project, which aims to supply around 23 TMC of water for industrial and drinking water needs in Visakhapatnam was blocked.
