TDP National President Chandrababu Naidu visited Help hospital in Vijayawada to express his sorrow to the students who were undergoing treatment after falling sick due to the attack. The students took to a hunger strike from the last two days in demand to retain Amaravati as capital.

Speaking to media on the occasion, Naidu opined that the attacks on students of Nagarjuna Varsity are inappropriate. "How can you attack while the students are protesting in a democratic manner?" he fumed at the government.

Taking a dig at the Vice-Chancellor, Naidu said that he had to discharge his duties properly without leaning to the government. "We strongly condemn the Vice Chancellor's actions, " Naidu asserted. The former chief minister also came hard at the government over the suspension of former intelligence chief AB Venkateswara Rao and said it is inappropriate to keep an IPS officer waiting and later suspending.

CPI state secretary Rama Krishna, former MLA Bonda Umamaheshwara Rao, and Amaravati JAC leaders were among those who consoled the students.
