Vijayawada: TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu lamented that there has been a complete failure of the law and order in the State after the YSRCP came to power.

Naidu led a delegation of TDP leaders comprising party MLAs, MLCs and MPs who met Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan at Raj Bhavan here on Thursday and submitted a 13-page report to him giving details of attacks on TDP activists in the State and also the circumstances which led to former State Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao committing suicide.

The TDP chief alleged that the State government was misusing power to attack the leaders of Opposition parties and also filing false cases on TDP leaders.Explaining the suicide incident of former Speaker Kodela, he pointed out that the State government had filed 18 false cases on him and his family members.

He wondered as to how such petty cases were booked against the former Speaker when Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was facing criminal trial as the prime accused in 12 cases of economic offences.

Naidu said YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy had humiliated Kodela on several occasions by posting comments against him in the social media.Speaking to the media after meeting the Governor, he recalled that the entire government machinery was shifted from Hyderabad to Amaravati after the State bifurcation.

Some furniture belonging to State Assembly was kept at Kodela's camp office and guest house and he acted as custodian. He pointed out that Kodela himself wrote a letter to Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram on the furniture but the State government booked theft case on him.

Likewise, several criminal cases were being booked against former Ministers Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, K Atchannaidu, former MLAs Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Yarapathineni Srinivas and other leaders. However, despite lodging complaints, the police were not filing cases against the YSR Congress activists who attacked the TDP workers, Naidu regretted.

He alleged that the staff of the Police Department right from the Director General of Police (DGP) to a constable, were showing bias against the TDP. Naidu reiterated that a CBI probe should be conducted to identify the factors which led to former Speaker Kodela taking the extreme step. The TDP would approach the Human Rights Commission against the attacks on the party cadre, he said.

Naidu also hinted at the party approaching the apex court on the issue. The former Chief Minister also regretted over Gangi Reddy, prime accused in a murder case being granted bail under the YSRCP regime. He also recalled how the YSRCP government had earlier significantly withdrew his security cover.

TDP State president K Kala Venkata Rao, Rajya Sabha MPs Thota Sitarama Lakshmi, K Ravindra Kumar, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani, MLAs Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, Karanam Balaramakrishna Murthy, N Chinarajappa, K Atchannaidu, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Gadde Rammohan, Payyavula Keshav and former Chairperson of AP Mahila Commission Nannapaneni Rajakumari accompanied Naidu.
