Chandrababu Naidu flays Jagan for not keeping his promise to tribal women
Guntur: TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu criticised Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for his failure to provide pension to tribal women who crossed 45 years. He participated in the 'Adivasi Dinostav' celebrations held at the TDP State party office in Guntur city on Friday. Speaking on this occasion, he recalled that the TDP government had hiked Rs 200 per month pension to Rs 2,000 per month.
He said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy also failed to fulfil his promise of increasing old-age pension from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000. Jagan only hiked pension by Rs 250, the TDP supremo pointed out.
He said beneficiaries in the State are not sure whether they would get their pension or not.He said the previous TDP government was committed to the welfare of tribals and implemented several programmes for their welfare.
He said Kia Motors had set up its unit in the State due to his efforts, but Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying to mislead people by giving the credit to his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Naidu also pointed out that during the TDP government's rule, sand was freely available in the State. But now people could get sand only through recommendations from MPs and MLAs, Naidu regretted.
