Chandrababu Naidu pacifies Pellakuru, offers him MLC post
Nellore: Kovur dissident leader from the ruling party Pellakuru Srinivasulu Reddy who had tendered resignation to the TDP, was pacified by the party and has been appointed as in-charge of the Nellore Parliamentary constituency.
The party leadership also assured him an MLC post. It may be recalled that Pellakuru Srinivasulu Reddy has been aspiring for Kovur Assembly seat and the party preferred the sitting MLA Polamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy.
Subsequently, Pellakuru quit the party expressing his dissent. He had already sent his resignation letter to party national president N Chandrababu Naidu. But, the Chief Minister asked him to meet at his camp office on Friday. Naidu assured Pellakuru of an MLC post and also appointed him as in-charge of Nellore Parliament constituency.
Following the meeting with Naidu, Pellakuru had withdrawn his resignation. Nellore rural candidate Adala likely to join YSR Cong: Meanwhile, it is learnt that TDP candidate for Nellore rural constituency and former Minister Adala Prabhakar Reddy is not interested in contesting for the seat. Rumours are making rounds that he is likely to join the YSR Congress. His phone has been switched off since Friday afternoon. It is learnt that the YSR Congress had offered him Nellore Lok Sabha seat.
The official WhatsApp group of Adala indicated that he had campaigned in Kanuparthipadu till 1 pm and then stopped further updates. They were not responding to calls and finally switched off. Still, there has been no clarification from his office over the rumours.
The TDP district committee convened a review meet of the rural constituency at the party office on Saturday morning. District president B Ravichandra and Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy will take part.
