Tirupati: The TDP is all set to kick-start election campaign by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu from Tirupati on Saturday. For the TDP it has been a tradition to start campaigning from the Temple City. Party founder NTR had always launched his campaign from Tirupati after offering the prayers to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala.

Continuing the sentiment, Naidu will also sound the poll bugle from here. Arrangements at the venue SV University Taraka Rama stadium are in full swing. Naidu will reach Tirumala at 11 am on Saturday to offer the prayers at temple.

He will reach SV University stadium to address the party workers in the afternoon where he will address Seva Mithras and TDP booth conveners of Chittoor district. After the meeting, the chief minister will go to north coastal areas and address public meetings.

Main objective of the meeting is to strengthen the TDP election network. Minister for Industries N Amarnath Reddy, Chittoor party president P Nani and Tirupati MLA Suguna visited the meeting venue and inspected the arrangements.

The Saturday's meeting assumes importance in the wake of recent developments like the data theft case, the letter by Enforcement Directorate written to CBI in 2017 asking them to probe into the quid pro case of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the latest incident of murder of Y S Vivekananda Reddy.
