Chandrababu Naidu to campaign in three segments in Chittoor district today
Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be visiting Chittoor district on Monday for the third time after the election schedule was announced. This time, he will campaign for the party candidates in Thamballapalle, Puthalapattu and Chittoor constituencies. He may also campaign in Chandragiri and Nagari constituencies on Tuesday, though the final schedule of his visit was not yet announced.
This tour is expected to help the party in Thamballapalle where party candidate G Shankar Yadav has been struggling in his fight with YSRCP's Peddireddy Dwarakanath Reddy. Former MLA AV Praveen Kumar Reddy and his mother and former MLA AV Lakshmi Devamma were said to be silent after Shankar got ticket for the second term. It is to be seen whether Naidu can send any signals to them to work for party candidate, which will boost up TDP's cadre morale there. He will also campaign for party MP candidate from Rajampet constituency DK Satya Prabha.
In Puthalapattu former MLA L Lalitha Kumari got the ticket again and she has been getting the support of former Chittoor MLA CK Babu who has some base in the segment. In Chittoor too former MLA and TDP candidate, AS Manohar has been campaigning vigorously. He has been getting the support of TDP workers as well as CK Babu's followers. Naidu's visit is expected to further consolidate the position of party candidates in these two constituencies along with party MP candidate N Siva Prasad.
Chandrababu Naidu will reach Thamballapalle from Pulivendula at 3.55 pm on Monday and will participate in public meeting. Later he will go to Bangarupalyam of Puthalapattu segment and address the people from 6.15 to 7 pm. He will then proceed to Chittoor by road and participate in roadshow in the city from 7.30 to 9 pm and will address the public meeting between 9 to 10 pm and will have night halt there itself.
In fact, during his previous visit Naidu has skipped Chandragiri programme due to time constraint though it was originally scheduled. The party cadre has disappointed there and were looking for his visit again. The party candidate Pulivarthi Nani has been fighting with sitting YSRCP MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy there and Naidu's tour will boost up the prospects of Nani.
Nagari is another constituency where a key fight is going on between sitting YSRCP MLA and film actress RK Roja and veteran leader G Muddukrishnama Naidu's son G Bhanu Prakash. The party believes that Naidu's tour in the segment will send positive signals to Bhanu Prakash. The tour to these two constituencies may be slated for Tuesday.
