Former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party national president have written to state election commissioner seeking the extension of the deadline for filing the nominations for Local Body Elections. The letter stated that the Returning Officers had not provided any due and caste certificates on time. Naidu asserted that the officials have violated rules despite the YSRCP leaders stalling the filing of nominations of opposition parties. He leveled allegations on the police who have supported the ruling party.

Chandrababu said that many candidates were not able to file nominations in a timely manner due to the delay in issuing no due and caste certificates manner and with YSRCP blocking them from filing the nominations. "There have been 76 instances where the ruling party has resorted to mockery, " Naidu opined.

He attached the relevant evidence with his complaint letter sent to the Election Commission. He demanded the acceptance of nominations irrespective of certification and no-due certificates. "The police should be ordered to take strict action against those who terrorize the opposition and should issue new notification for Pulivendula, Macherla, Punganur, Mantralayam, Tellukuru, Kavetinagar and Pulumpeta districts.
