Visakhapatnam: YSRCP State general secretary Dadi Veerabhadra Rao on Friday took a dig at TDP national leader N Chandrababu Naidu's Deeksha against sand scarcity at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada.

Addressing media here on Friday, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao said the Deeksha evoked poor response even from the party cadre as only eight out of 23 TDP MLAs took part in it. "It clearly shows party's dwindling prospects and legislators' lack of confidence in their own party leader," he pointed out.

Further, he said the TDP chief had deliberately sent his party leaders into the BJP only to avoid pressure from the Central government. "Naidu has now started wooing the BJP to turn its attention to TDP's favour," he stated.

In an indirect reference to Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, he said that some 'paid artiste' had already roaming in the State under Naidu's direction. He flayed Naidu for undertaking such 'deeksha' with an eye for his son's future and not for the welfare of people.

The YSRCP State general secretary alleged that TDP leaders swindled and resorted to irregularities in sand mining during TDP regime and thus robbing from the state's exchequer. He also alleged the TDP's owned software company Blue Frog was involved in hacking the State government's sand portal to create 'artificial' sand scarcity to get mileage politically in the state.
