Eluru: Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani has directed the officials of medical and health and other departments to take steps to prevent spread of contagious diseases during rainy season.

He interacted with the people who came from across the districts to complain him about various problems related to poor sanitation and health related issues at his camp office on Friday.

Nani said mosquitoes and flies are spreading fast because of stagnation of water and poor sanitation. He called upon the officials to make field visits of the remote and tribal areas and bring awareness among the local people about preventive measures to be taken during this rainy season.

He asked the officials to educate petty vendors not to expose food items so that the problem of flies can be solved to a great extent. He suggested the meat vendors to use nets so that flies can be prevented from polluting the food. The Dy CM asked the officials to visit villages and supply free medicines for vomiting and diarrhoea depending on the seriousness of the problem.
