Children's talent competition held in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The two-day 'Balala Kalavedika' a children talent competition organised by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation concluded on a grand note here on Sunday.

LV Subramanyam, special chief secretary Government of AP attended as the chief guest of the programme.

Dr Vijay Bhaskar CEO Language and Culture commission, former MLC Iylapuram Venkaiah, Andhra Arts Academy Golla Narayan Rao, Lion multiple council chairman M Upendra Divya and other were present.

The guest distributed Bhavya and Navya talent awards to the best performers.

Competitions were held in Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Classical and Folk in two categories primary level and secondary level both solo and group.

The programme was headed by Padma Sri Hemanth. Speaking to The Hans India she said that "I had been organising this programme for the last ten years to encourage and to take forward the culture and tradition besides bringing out the hidden talent from the children.

As many as 1,000 children from various places across Vijayawada city participated in the talent competition and exhibited their talents."
