Chirala: Pedaganjam closes entrance, exit to village
Chirala: The fear for life due to the pandemic COVID-19 is forcing people to constrain themselves to control the spread of the coronavirus.
The villagers of Pedaganjam in the Chinaganjam mandal of Prakasam district decided not to take risk of spreading the deadly virus into the village and banned the entrance of others into the village. They have also announced in the village that no person from Pedaganjam leaves the village until the end of lockdown on March 31. They closed the entrance and exit points of the village and set up an outpost at both ends to stop people and vehicles.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, village elder Munnam Nageswara Reddy said that they have advised the people in the village to maintain personal hygiene and sanitation in and around their homes. He said that the coronavirus can be easily defeated if the public takes a decision to unite and implement it. He said that the decision of banning the people from entering the village or leaving it was taken after discussing the issue with others in the village.
