Chit fund company senior manager held for duping public in Ongole

Ongole: The Prakasam police on Monday arrested the assistant manager of Shriram Chits who duped the public for more than Rs 76 lakh by giving fake receipts and recovered Rs 35 lakh from the accused.

Speaking to media here, Superintendent of Police Siddharth Kaushal announced that Pinnika Drakshavathi alias Karusala Drakshavathi used to work with Shriram Chits for the last 15 years. For the last one year, she had cheated the company by using the money deposited by the customers and giving fake receipts to them.

Based on five complaints from the company and customers at Ongole Town I, Town II, Taluk and Korisapadu police stations, the SP formed a team under the supervision of CCS DSP A Prasad Kumar and Ongole DSP KVVNV Prasad and arrested the accused Drakshavathi. The police recovered Rs 35,54,468 from the former assistant manager out of a total of Rs 76,67,465 and presented her before the magistrate.

The SP appreciated the CCS CIs G Rama Rao, MDK Altaf Hussain, Taluk CI M Lakshman, CCS SIs R Suman, K Venkateswarlu, V Nagamalleswara Rao, Sk Samiulla and other members of team for successfully cracking the case. Additional SP (Admin) B Sarath Babu, CCS DSP A Prasad, Ongole DSP KVVNV Prasad, SB CIs Balamuralikrishna and N Srikanth also participated in the press meet.
