Chittoor: Foundation laid for Potu building at Kanipakam temple

Chittoor: District Collector N B Guptha stated that the government has been committed to developing the temples, churches and masjids irrespective of any discrimination. Many of the temples in the district have funds to perform the pujas and to for their maintenances, he said. The Collector has laid foundation stone for Potu buildings (kitchen for preparing prasadams) at Srivarasiddi Vinayaka Swamy Temple, Kanipakam on Thursday with an estimated cost of Rs.3 crore. Puthalapattu MLA, M S Babu and others were present. Kanipakam temple EO Devullu received them with temple honors.

Speaking on the occasion, Guptha said that Kanipakam temple is one of the fast developing temples in the country and the devotees from several states have been visiting the temple. The temple administration should take initiative to provide maximum facilities to the devotees. It is to be noted that majority of the devotees who visit Tirumala also visit Kanipakam temple too, he said. MLA M S Babu stated that the EO should take immediate steps for better sanitation in the premises. He exuded confidence that the construction of the proposed Potu buildings of the temple would be completed at the earliest. Earlier the District Collector and the YSRCP MLA offered prayers to the deity.
