Chittoor: Justice sought for doctor

Chittoor: District CPI General Secretary A Ramanaidu demanded the Deputy Chief Minister K Narayanaswamy to take action against some political leaders of Penumuru Mandal for allegedly harassing a Dalit woman doctor.

Protesting against the alleged high-handedness of the ruling YSRCP leaders , the CPI has staged dharna at the Collectorate on Monday.

He alleged that certain YSRCP leaders have harassed Dr Anita Rani, Medical Officer , Primary Health Centre , Penumuru for not responding to their illegal obligations.

The incident took place in G D Nelllore Mandal, which comes under the constituency of Deputy Chief Minister K Narayanaswamy.

Dalit Rights Porata Samithi district president S Nagarajan regretted that there was no protection for the Dalits and weaker section people in the present government.

CPI leaders T Janardhan, Gopi, Mani, Raghuram and others were present. They submitted a memorandum to the Joint Collector 2 V R Chandra Mouli in this regard.
