Chittoor: Lockdown restrictions will be in force till May 28 says DSP K Eswar Reddy
Chittoor: Due to increase in number of Covid-19 positive cases in the district, it has been decided to enforce lockdown till up to May 28 as a precautionary measure, said K Eswar Reddy, DSP, Chittoor.
One corona positive case was reported at Lallugardens in city recently which is related to contacts of Koyembedu Vegetable market in Chennai.
The DSP said to The Hans India here on Sunday that Superintendent of Police S Sentjil Kumar has made it clear that there was no permission to celebrate Ganga Jathara or perform the prayers openly for Ramzan festival.
The Municipal Commissioner has also instructed not to open the mutton or chicken shops in the city, he said.
The DSP further said that total curfew would be imposed at nights in the city from 9pm to 6am during the lockdown.
He said that strict measures were initiated to follow the social distancing at wine shops.
