Chittoor: Muslims, Left parties organise a massive rally against CAA

Chittoor: Protesting against the passage of Citizenship Amendment Act -2019, Left parties and the unions of Muslim Minorities along with leaders of other parties have organised a massive rally here on Monday. Thousands of Muslims and their sympathisers took part in the rally. They raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shaw., The rally passed through Iruvaram to NPS Government Degree College in which Chittoor YSRCP MLA A Srinivasulu , MLCs Y Srinivasulu Reddy and V Balasubramanyam and other leaders also participated.

Speaking on the occasion , A Rama Naidu , general secretary , CPI , has strongly condemned the passage of the bills CAA, NRC and NPR. Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 is not related to Muslims alone, but it is applicable to all others. It will be a serious setback for religious harmony, he said. He blamed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amith Shaw were trying to divide the Country on communal lines. Former legislator Shajahan, leaders like Inthiaz , CPI leaders Nagaraj and others spoke. Chittoor DSP K Eswara Reddy deployed heavy police force for averting untoward incidents during the rally.
