Chittoor: Rs 1,000 fine for not wearing face mask

Chittoor: Despite repeated appeals to the public by the officials, it is regretted that most of the people are not caring to wear face masks to prevent the spread of Covid-19, said C Obulesh, Municipal Commissioner.

Addressing presspersons here on Friday, he stated that fines up to Rs.1,000 will be imposed to the persons if found without wearing the face mask at public places as per The Disastrous Management Act 2005.

He cautioned that the COVID-19 cases have been increasing steadily in the city due to the negligence of the people in taking precautionary measures.

He ridiculed that many of the students were riding on the bikes without using masks. He said one more corona virus-positive case was registered in the city on Friday. Two Town C I Yugandhar was also present.
