Christmas cake-mixing ceremony held in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Marking the beginning of the festive season, Welcome Hotel Grand Bay organised the age-old traditional Christmas cake-mixing ceremony on Thursday.
Executive chef Sridhar Kare and the team rolled up their sleeves and blended black currants, cashew nuts, red cherries, and figs, dry apricots, candied ginger, candied orange peels, almonds, prunes, raisins, walnut, and spices of ground cinnamon, cardamom and cloves used in the cake.
Later, they poured bottles of dark rum, honey syrup and many more ingredients to enhance the taste. General manager of the Hotel Rajesh Nath said the baking of the Christmas cake would start from December 20.
