CJI Ranjan Gogoi worships Lord Balaji in Tirumala

Tirumala: Chief Justice of India Justice Ranjan Gogoi accompanied by his wife Rupanjali Gogoi on Sunday offered prayers at the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara.

The CJI along with his family was accorded welcome on his arrival at the main entrance of the temple amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by Veda pundits and traditional melam band. In the sanctum sanctorum, he was explained about the importance of presiding deity and the jewels adorned to Lord Venkateswara.

Later the Vedic scholars offered Vedasirvachanam at Ranganayakula mandapam, after darshan. TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal and Additional EO AV Dharma Reddy offered theertha prasadams of Lord Venkateswara to the top dignitary.

Gogoi who arrived here on a two-day visit on Saturday first went to Tiruchanur to offer prayers to Goddess Sri Padmavathi and later in the evening participated in Sahasra Deepalankara Seva before offering prayers to Lord Venkateswara.

The CJI visited the shrine on Sunday during the VIP break to have darshan of Lord along with his spouse on the last day of his office, before returning to New Delhi. Temple Dy EO Haridranath, reception officials Balaji and others were present.
