New Delhi: The Supreme court has dismissed the review petition filed by the opposition parties over 50 percent counting of VVPAT slips on Tuesday.
Reacting over the court verdict, the TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu clarified that they will not spot their fight till here, they will continue until the elections process is conducted transparently.
Speaking to media, CM Naidu said the counting of 50 percent VVPAT slips is a rightful demand. He also said along with 21 political parties leaders, we will again meet the Election Commission.
The TDP supremo remembered that earlier within 24 hours the ballot paper counting used to be completed. Now for the counting of VVPAT slips, the EC is saying it will take 6 days to complete the counting process.
He said the EC has to remember that apart from time consumption, the transparency in the process is the most important.
On the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said 6 EVMs were found at a hotel in Bihar. By investing Rs 9,000 cr the VVPAT were implemented, but regarding the EVMS still, there are many doubts among the people.
CM Chandrababu Naidu demanded that for any variations between the votes in EVMS and VVPAT, then the complete slips in VVPAT has to be counted in the constituency.
