CM Jagan explains plans to have four capitals to Amit Shah
Amaravati: AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the national capital to participate in the Inter-State Council meeting headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday.
During the tour, CM YS Jagan has met with Home Minister and Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Shekhawat and explained about his plan to create four new capitals for the state.
According to News18 report, YS Jagan is mulling to establish Vizianagaram, Kakinada, Guntur, and Kadapa as the new capitals of the state in a bid to decentralize development.
The Chief Minister highlighted the proposal to make Amaravati as only the administrative capital, while developing the other four cities. For which the government has decided to set up Regional Development Boards.
With the recent flood to the Krishna river, many raised concerns over Amaravati being chosen as the capital. Minister Botsa Satyanarayan said that Amaravati lands are suitable for the capital.
However, these comments have heated the state politics, where the government is facing the protest from the opposition parties and common public.
