CM Jagan gives nod for 140 km metro rail project in Visakhapatnam
The government of Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has given a green signal for the metro rail project in Visakhapatnam. Earlier, there were up and downs regarding the project where the Jagan Mohan Reddy government has stalled the project and went for a revised plan.
As part of the revised plan, the Metro project is set to cover 140.13 kilometres in 10 corridors in 10 phases. As many as 46.40 km distances will be constructed in the First Phase with a stretch of 34.23 km from Steel Plant to Kommadi, 5.26 km from Gurdwara to Old Post Office and 6.91 km from Tadichettla Palame to RK Beach.
The government has decided to complete the Vishakha metro rail project between 2020 and 2024 while the DPR is also prepared. The residents of Visakhapatnam are said to be delighted with the announcement of Metro Rail Project.
