Update: 2020-02-06 11:44 IST

Despite the automobile manufacturer Kia Motors and government's clarification on the rumours about the shifting of the KIA motor plant from Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu, the opposition TDP responds strongly to this issue. TDP senior leader Devineni Uma has demanded that response from the chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy on the shifting of the Kia Motor industry. Devineni Uma said that the decisions taken by CM Jagan had already caused a lot of damage to the Andhra Pradesh. "The government is trying to abolish all the projects brought by the then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu," Uma opined.

Earlier, there was a story from International agency Reuters stating that the KIA motors being shifted to the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. Terming this report as totally untrue and full of falsehoods, Manohar Bhat, the head of KIA Motors India said: "We have very cordial relations with AP government. We have no problems and no concerns whatsoever. It is surprising to see an unnamed Kia Motors official being quoted in the story. This is the worst form of concoction. It is surprising and shocking for us. It is a baseless report".

KIA inaugurated the Andhra plant, it's first in the world's fifth-largest car market, in December after two years of construction. It has an annual capacity of some 300,000 units and created 12,000 direct and indirect jobs.
