The murder case of the former minister Vivekananda Reddy has taken a new twist with chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy withdrawing the petition filed in High Court seeking an order to investigate the case with the CBI. The Lawyer on behalf of Jagan told the High Court that there was no need for any further order on the petition. However, the court instructed Lawyer to file a memo in writing and postponed the hearing for the next week.

YS Vivekananda Reddy was brutally murdered before the 2019 elections while the then TDP government has ordered SIT enquiry. On the other hand, Jagan filed a petition in the High Court demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI. However, after Jagan coming to power constituted a new SIT.

Meanwhile, a few more petitions have been filed against Viveka's murder. Viveka's daughter, TDP MLC Btech Ravi, former minister Adinarayana Reddy filed petitions in the High Court demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI. These petitions are also being heard in the High Court.
