CM Jagan to hold Cabinet meeting ahead of Assembly sessions to discuss on various issues in the state

Amaravati: The AP cabinet meeting scheduled on Wednesday at Secretariat, which will likely discuss the subjects to be introduced in the ensuing Assembly session. It also will focus on early implementation of new welfare schemes and policies of the government, in order to clear legal hurdles before local body elections. The local body elections are likely to be conducted in three months of January 2020.

Sources informed that the Chief Minister will raise the issue on the construction of various works in the Amaravati capital city. The state government has halted the ongoing works abruptly after Jagan assumed charge. The developments like recognizing the Amaravati as the capital city of Andhra Pradesh by the Union Government in the recently released India's Political Map, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu's visit to the capital city halted works and others have become a bothering issue in the state government. YSRCP leaders said that the cabinet would likely discuss on how to give a counter to the TDP leader during his visit and his criticism.

The much controversial APPSC issue will be discussed in the Cabinet. The government reportedly has found many faults in the function of the existing Commission and its chairman. Sources informed that the removal of the APPSC chairman will be discussed in the cabinet. The merger of the APSRTC employees into the State government. Since it is a constitutional post, the government has been calculatedly taking steps. The issue was already discussed with the Governor by the Chief Minister, sources informed.

Cabinet is likely to approve the proposal for the implementation of increased financial assistance to the BC students who aspire to study in abroad.

The increased sales prices of liquor, reducing the number of bars in the state and other issues pertaining to new liquor policy to be discussed and ratified for the already implementing initiatives.
