CM wants empowerment of women, says Minister Peddireddy

Vijayawada: Minister for Panchayati Raj Department Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said that the aim of the Chief Minister was to transform women to be financial strong and the government would support them in all ways.

He along with the Minister for Information Perni Venkataramaiah inaugurated the 'Saras – Akhila Bharata Dwcra Bazaar' at the PWD grounds here on Thursday late evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramchandra Reddy recalled that the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had seen and listened to the problems faced by DWCRA women in the state at the time of his padayatra and decided to support them financially.

He said that if the women were given support and opportunity, they would excel in any field and the best example were the DWCRA women. He said that the CM has assured to clear DWCRA women debts and would clear the pending debts of Rs 28 crore.

He said that all the promises made at the time of elections will be fulfilled, in four months the government gave four lakh jobs to unemployed youth in the state. He said that 350 stalls were arranged and women from 20 states participated in the DWCRA Bazaar and there would be a business of Rs five crore, said the minister on the occasion.

Government Whip S Udayabhanu, MLA Malladi Vishnu, SERP CEO P Raju Babu, DRDA project director M Srinivas Rao, SBI DGM Arun Kumar, NABARD AGM Vijay, Andhra Bank Chief manager Nancharaiaah and others were present at the inaugural programme.
