CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy orders reduction in number of bars

Amaravati: Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy took an important decision towards the total prohibition on Thursday. He ordered reduction in the number of bars as well operating hours in the state from 11 am to 10 pm.

The decision is likely to come into effect on January 1. The decision comes in the backdrop of state government taking over liquor sales with drastic reduction in outlets and reducing their hours from 11 am to 8 pm.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting with officials of different departments over the revenue of the state government at his camp office in Tadepalli on Thursday. During the meeting, the officials explained to him the current revenue which is being generated from all the different liquor outlets.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials that bars should be away from residential places and school zones. Officials of Revenue, Transport, Excise, Stamps and Registration, Forest and Mining officials attended the meeting.
