CM YS Jagan announces salary hike to Ambulance service employees in Andhra

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday announced a hike in the salaries for employees of 108 ambulance services.
Amaravati: Taking everyone by surprise, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday announced a hike in the salaries for employees of 108 ambulance services. Based on their service, the pay for drivers has been increased to Rs 18,000-28,000 from the existing Rs 10,000 per month. Similarly, the pay of emergency medical technicians was increased to Rs 20,000-30,000 from the current pay of Rs 12,000.

Prior to this, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government has launched the 1068 ambulances at the Benz circle junction on Wednesday. Ministers, MLAs and official attended the inauguration event. A total of 748 ambulances (108 services) were inaugurated. Of the total, 705 vehicles will be allocated for both rural and urban areas and 26 vehicles exclusively allocated for neonatal services and 19 ambulances will be kept on reserve. The government of Andhra Pradesh has purchased 412 new ambulances and 336 ambulances are already in the use.

CM also to inaugurated Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) (104 services), which have many facilities. The MMUs staff will visit the rural areas and do service to the patients. Government has sanctioned 676 vehicles (104 services) one vehicle for each mandal. These ambulances will attend the emergency cases particularly the accidents, disasters and serious ailments and also cover anganwadi schools, government schools and houses in the villages.
