CM YS Jagan inaugurates Disha police station in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: As part of the implementation of the Disha Act, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has inaugurated the first Disha Police Station in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday.

CM, along with the women ministers and MLAs, inspected the special police station. AP DGP Goutam Sawang, Home Minister Mekatoti Sucharita, Taneti Vanitha, MLA Roja, AP Women's Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma along with Disha Act implementation officials Deepika Patil and Kritika Shukla and other officials have attended the event.

A total of 18 Disha police stations will be set up across the state. Each station will have 52 police personnel including DCPs, 2 CIs, 5 SIs, and Constables.

The government has appointed Kritika Shukla and Deepika Patil as Special Officers for implementing the AP Disha Act 2019, which is intended for speedy trial and faster execution in cases of sexual offences against women.
