CM YS Jagan launches APEMC, an online platform for waste treatment
The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board has prepared a plan for collect the waste material through an online platform as part of pollution-free treatment. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday launched an online platform for the transfer of waste to the state government under the aegis of Andhra Pradesh Environmental Management Agency (APEMC). APEMC was launched in honor of World Environment Day. Ministers Gautam Reddy, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, CS Nilam Sawhney, Special Chief Secretary Environment, Forest Neereb Kumar Prasad and APPCB Member Secretary Vivek Yadav.
It is said that the APEMC will undertake waste management responsibilities from industry by enforcing environmental rules and regulations strictly. For the first time in the country, an online waste exchange platform has been set up, which would handle strict tracking, scrutiny and auditing processes in waste management.
Industries that do not have a treatment system for efficient handling of contaminated waste should be handed over to scientifically managed companies. The Andhra Pradesh Environmental Management Agency is in the process of integrating industry-waste management companies into an online platform. This is because the industry has to pay some fee to waste management companies and APEMC. This is the first of its kind online waste exchange platform in the country set up by Andhra Pradesh government.
