CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reviews with excise department officials, asks to act tough

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the excise staff to be strict in handling the task of imposing a ban on belt shops. He held a review meeting with officials of the Enforcement and Excise Department on Thursday at the camp office in Tadepally. Chief Minister has directed the authorities to take measures to prevent sand mining, smuggling and belts hops.

CM YS Jagan said that many initiatives such as the implementation of YSR Raithu Bharosa, YSR village clinics and introduction of English medium in government-run schools has brought the revolutionary changes in the development of villages. However, he is concerned about the belt shops, illicit brewing and illegal sand mining that are hampering the intentions in conducting such programs.

The chief minister has directed the officials to ensure that no belt shops are held in any of the villages. "There should be no illegal sand mining and alcohol trafficking in the borders. Police, Enforcement and Prohibition staff need to be very strict in dealing with such incidents," Jagan Mohan Reddy said. Chief Minister Jagan has given the powers to enforcement department o increase the staff to achieve better results.

The meeting was attended by Minister Peddi Reddy Ramachandra Reddy, CS Neelam Sawhney and officials from the respective departments
