CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy sanctioned Medical college to Rajamahendravaram
Rajamahendravaram: The long-cherished desire of the people of this area is coming true soon. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has sanctioned a medical college for Rajamahendravaram.
Speaking to reporters at YSRCP city office here on Saturday, Rajanagaram MLA and Andhra Pradesh Kapu Corporation chairman Jakkampudi Raja thanked the Chief Minister for giving his consent for the medical college in the historical city.
Lands belonging to Gowthami Jeeva Karunya Sangham and Horticulture Department in the city are available and steps would be taken to acquire them. If not possible, land also be acquired in Rajanagaram. The classes will commence from the next academic year, he averred.
The government headquarters hospital, started in 1978, would be strengthened with 1,500 beds. The hospital has 20 acres of land. At present government medical college is running in Kakinada only.
