CM YS Jagan to visit Vizianagaram today

Vizianagaram: The district administration has made extensive arrangements for the visit of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to the district on Wednesday.

Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Administration Botcha Satyanarayana has been overseeing the arrangements and coordinating with officials and MLAs.

The Chief Minister is going to launch house sites distribution at Gunkalam village in Vizianagaram district, which is the largest single layout in the entire State and provides sites to 12,301 beneficiaries.

In all, 1.08 lakh beneficiaries all over the district will get the house sites and houses under the TIDCO scheme. As many as 1,164 housing layouts have been developed with all basic amenities like roads, electricity and drinking water.

A sum of Rs 228 crore has been spent to purchase land from private persons for house sites.

Around 1,400 acres of land has been acquired for the mega welfare scheme. About Rs 769 crore would be spent to construct 98,286 houses in these layouts in first phase in 18 months and later the second phase would be initiated.

The house pattas distribution programme will be continued till January 7. During his visit, the Chief Minister will distribute the pattas to the beneficiaries and interact with them.

Later, he would visit the model house and address the people. Officials of the police, revenue and housing departments have been busy ensuring the completion of the pending works in the layout.

Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, District Collector Hari Jawaharlal and SP B Rajakumari visited the venue on Tuesday and reviewed the arrangements. A large number of beneficiaries and YSRCP cadre are expected to attend the function on Wednesday.
