CM Jagan delivers Independence Day speech at Indira Gandhi Stadium

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has participated in Independence day celebrations held at Indira Gandhi Stadium for the first time as the CM. He hoisted the national flag. Speaking on the occasion, Jagan said that power and corruption have mixed together like milk and water. He said that everyone must question whether to change the system like this or not?

The CM said that his government is trying to provide electricity at a cheaper price to the poor and the farmers of the state. He added that they had made a law that 70% of the jobs should be given to locals in the industries.

The Chief Minister said with the inspiration drawn from Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar, his government has designed 'Navaratnalu' scheme for the welfare of the poor. "In order to eradicate inequalities in the society, we have enacted to give 50% reservation to BC, SC, and ST in the nominated Posts and contracts," he said.

Later, CM YS Jagan received a guard of honour from the state police department. As part of the celebrations, the showcase of parade tableaus of various departments stood as the special attraction for the visitors.

Earlier today, YS Jagan greeted Independence day wishes through a Twitter post. "Let us honour and cherish the selfless sacrifices of the freedom fighters and martyrs on this grand occasion of #IndependenceDayIndia. Happy Independence day!" he tweeted.
